So far . . . meh. I don't know why. Lamott writes well. I like me some inspiring tales about God moving in the world. I enjoy her Facebook posts. But so far I'm not enjoying this book. Maybe each essay is too tidy and "sweet," although sweet doesn't seem like the right word exactly. Most of the people in them have significant issues, which seems pretty true to life. I can't put my finger on it, but . . . meh.

I gave up. I just couldn't get into it. This is exactly the kind of book I should like but it was just too . . . I'm not sure what . . . treacly? Not that cuz there is tough life stuff in there. Pat? that's not quite right either. Anyway, I gave up.
