I read this book 30 years ago and loved it then. A delightful reread.

I'm listening to this on Audible during my commute. Obama is a good writer and i suspect I'd like this more if I were reading it. Listening to books-on-tape is not my preferred method. It's OK. Sometimes I really like it. Sometimes ... meh.

I'm reading this for a class on Ministry to Seniors. I've read a few chapters already for another class and heard the author speak. It's a revolutionary new way to think about Alzheimer's and way to be with those suffering from the disease. i look forward to reading more and hope I need never use its methods with someone I love.

I'm reading this with my nephew but had to put it down. It's not one of those kids books that is great for adults too. It's really a kids book!

So many women read this when they are young and feel empowered reading the Arthurian legend through the eyes of the female characters. But all the unrequited love quadrangles feel too teenager-ish for this grown up woman. Maybe I'm just coming to it too late. I wanted some kick-ass strong and powerful women and cool magick, but so far, it's just a lot of whining and pining. And i'm only on page 336 of 859 . . . .

I thought I would love this book, and in the beginning I did. But the long Jungian analysis of a fairytale that reads to me like all the others -- silly girl's curiosity gets the best of her and she doesn't do what she's told so then has to get her ass rescued by a bunch of guys from the big bad -- and I'm left wondering why this book was so popular . . . .

I enjoyed this little mystery. The ancient Irish and British history was really interesting and the characters fun. Although I knew very early in the book who the murderer was, that did not spoil the enjoyment and I'm glad to have found this series.

I gave up. I just couldn't get into it. This is exactly the kind of book I should like but it was just too . . . I'm not sure what . . . treacly? Not that cuz there is tough life stuff in there. Pat? that's not quite right either. Anyway, I gave up.

I'm just at the beginning and this is a very long book so things could change, but so far, total and complete love. I imagine this is one of the books where timing is important and it's probably been on my shelf about 10 years, but apparently this is exactly the right time for me to read this book and so far I absolutely love it, down to the footnotes, which are practically a seperate book in themselves.

So far . . . meh. I don't know why. Lamott writes well. I like me some inspiring tales about God moving in the world. I enjoy her Facebook posts. But so far I'm not enjoying this book. Maybe each essay is too tidy and "sweet," although sweet doesn't seem like the right word exactly. Most of the people in them have significant issues, which seems pretty true to life. I can't put my finger on it, but . . . meh.

I don't even know what words to use for this book. It's so different. So beautiful. I just finished it in a marathon reading this weekend, when I should have been doing other things. It was not put-down-able. The writing, like the main character herself, was both ethereal and so powerfully rooted. It was like poetry, and brought Glencoe alive as myth and reality both.

Love! The bio on Goodreads describes Moore as a writer of absurdist fiction. Absurdist -- and hilarious -- yes -- and also wise about the nature of living this human life. I really enjoyed "Sacre Bleu" this summer but "Lamb" several cuts above. Don't read if you're going to be offended by some seriously out there (or is it?!) speculation on Jesus' lost years & what might have made him such a radical in his own time.

I'm a third of the way through and I've put it down to read something. I'll go back to it but needed a break. I lived the series but for some reason the number of characters in the book makes it hard to stay engaged or get too deeply involved . I'm just having trouble caring. As with the show. Dany is my favorite.

I can't decide what the heck I think of this book. Sometimes I want to throw it across the room -- when it goes meta beyond meta -- but then I find the narrator so endearing in her lost-ness.
