I'm just at the beginning and this is a very long book so things could change, but so far, total and complete love. I imagine this is one of the books where timing is important and it's probably been on my shelf about 10 years, but apparently this is exactly the right time for me to read this book and so far I absolutely love it, down to the footnotes, which are practically a seperate book in themselves.

I thought I would love this book, and in the beginning I did. But the long Jungian analysis of a fairytale that reads to me like all the others -- silly girl's curiosity gets the best of her and she doesn't do what she's told so then has to get her ass rescued by a bunch of guys from the big bad -- and I'm left wondering why this book was so popular . . . .
