"how is what happened stifling your life and why is this the only truth?.. is gaining freedom a lifelong process? ... once you understand you're not powerless, though you may have been as a child, you have 360 degrees of choice."

Forgiveness is mostly an internal process...but maybe it's not about sitting down and trying to get them to understand your POV, bc they're narcissistic...or they're not able to emotionally hear you... there's a difference between forgiveness and trying to work it out - and between forgiving BUT still being able to keep a distance. It's importance to ask yourself, how much is this hurting me to hold onto anger.
