4-6 introduces multiple armies in different places nicely by giving maps demonstrating their movement, using dates constantly, and naming important states. There are a lot of armies (Texas-Florida, Louisiana- Pennsylvania.) To keep track of, but I cant see a better way to organize.

A Great Civil War focuses talks a lot about battles, general tactics, and strategy. The books I have read about the Civil War before were a lot more focused on politics. I'm having a good time reading this, and today, learned more about the battle at Pea Ridge, Union General Curtis, and Confederate General Dorn. I have learned more about the importance of the Mississippi campaigns and Trans-Mississippi Theatre.
