WHY is this book so completely OBSESSED with sex?!!! I never could have predicted that after reading the first book, which maaaaybe briefly mentioned it once or twice in hundreds of pages.

Kvothe is so stupid and Denna’s so stupid and I kinda can’t stand either of them (I fully can’t stand Denna, and I can stand Kvothe only because he’s the source of interesting stories about other people

Denna Denna Denna. ENOUGH DENNA! She’s SO boring, all the parts about her are boring, and it makes my eyes glaze over (especially after excellent, compelling sequences, which are always followed by MORE. DENNA. 🙄)

Kvothe is. An. Idiot. You’re constantly destitute, but every time you come into money you start spending it like it grows on trees??! I don’t know how much more of this I can take. It’s so incredibly stupid.

Aaaand more incel vibes. Gross. The drug that makes Kvothe unaware of social rules and makes it excusable for him to say awful things to Fela sounds like an incel’s DREAM— like an incel Reddit page come to life.

The beginning is boring again, and I think the admission/tuition thing is really dumb to be honest
