My hatred for Tom Bombadil aside, this is so good. Poetic, immersive, simple and profound. I'm basic but who cares

Listening to the new audiobook. The narrator is annoyingly loud at times and I had forgotten how dreadfully boring I find the Tom Bombadil subplot (it comes out of nowhere and leads nowhere, I sleep). It is a bit funny to have a godlike creature just chill and sing and hang out with his wife, but it sure drags the plot. Otherwise a masterpiece in slow pacing and immersion
