The pubescent, nervous erotic thoughts of the protagonist have me cringing so much that it completely throws me out of the story at times.

Hitting a bit close to home. 100% convinced the author has experienced depression or knows a loved one who did. - While I am a bit cringing it is not nearly as bad as I thought so far.
