“Nick drifted into the bedroom and eyed the large double bed speculatively. There's no way we're wasting that tonight. He mentally calculated an extra drink for Ian into his previous equation. Maybe some tequila. Whatever it took. He wasn't above being mercenary.”
Being extremely pushy in the face of resistance is an uncomfortable, problematic theme in this book *sigh* Such a shame bc I like the story otherwise.

i've been very curious about this book for a while 🤔 hope it works out for you overall and that your review makes me finally read it lol!
Fenriz wrote: "Uh oh."I’m super sensitive about being pushed… if I say no or indicate hesitation, resistance, fear, anything other than enthusiastic consent, I want to be heard. I spent my adolescence being bullied and pressure and forced. By boyfriends, by boys that I liked and was into and as an adult, by my (now ex) husband even ☹️ I shouldn’t have to justify or defend my choice if I’m not feelin it. So each time Nick tried to think of ways to overcome Ian’s very clear boundary, it poked at countless sore spots 😢
