"Give her some space" — how 1960s

I don’t think the "men don’t have to fear that their reputations will suffer, why should I" rings true. In the 1950s and early 1960s, it was still a girl’s responsibility to protect her virtue. (I mean, really, it still is) And girls did not question it. Patriarchal indoctrination is very strong.

The dedication makes me wonder. Were these all young men who died? I am reminded of the character on House who was written out of the show with a suicide. His friends had a terrible time dealing with it.
