"An ultrasound a few days later reveals that there had never been a baby. A gestational sac had been responsible for those pregnancy-like symptoms. While it should've housed a little body, it was empty. Even the doctors had been fooled. Merryn doesn't cry when the doctor explains what has happened." Page 26
