At most, Kant thinks of human being as historical being, but he is unable to integrate his concept of a historical person with his ahistorical concept of knowledge. Hegel is the first thinker to integrate the historical and systematic aspects within a single philosophical vision.

[With the exceptions of Marx and Weber] Hegel remains perhaps the first and the last to know how to integrate history into his thought.
