Hamming has fantastic perspective, and his thoughts on mental organization are aligned with mine, however his growing arrogance near the end of this book is slightly frustrating and off putting.

As I near the end here, this book begins to pivot into life advice for learning, which is truly why I began reading.

Digital filtering will forever excite me, but Hamming’s discussion of it left me wanting to learn more while also running circles around my understanding.

A beautiful new perspective on digital filtering, windows and the FFT.

The overview of digital filtering has completely opened my eyes as to how that aspect of dsp truly operates. A more clear explanation and understanding of the idea than any college course! Also origin of the Hamming Window!!

Hamming’s subtle distaste yet indulgence of information theory was quite a funny section of the book, but the overview was comprehensive!

These last few chapters have been a great explanation of not only the error correcting codes and computing theory that hamming developed, but also a great discussion of the things that drove the understandings and a discussion of how these things came to light. A very vital part that of great discovery that is not usually talked about!
