Confession: I'm a really slow reader. I also have gotten incredibly picky about what I read. I look for flawed, relatable characters, a fun premise, and some darkness, but the writing has to be stellar. But I LOVE a really long, layered story, especially if it's the first in a series. So far, this checks all those boxes and has held my attention, so it's got my hopes up.
