I stopped reading this book after my last update seven years ago. I recently picked it up again, and I hope to finish it this time. I like the book, but I keep getting the sense that Schwab's imagination goes in far darker directions than I'm comfortable reading. Then I pick up the book again, and it wasn't as dark as I feared. Very few writers make me this uncomfortable.

This book is very good but also very frustrating. Thankfully, just when I get irritated with the viewpoint character and want to put the book down, the book switches to a different viewpoint. The constant changes, rather than frustrating me, as they normally would, have kept me engaged in the book.

I JUST picked up the 3rd one again after putting it down a while ago - we're on the same wavelength!!! These are soooo good but there's always HOPE.

I haven't read enough by Schwab to trust her yet, and parts of this book are so dark. Thanks for the encouragement to keep going!
