They're going for a younger, hipper demographic. You know, kids who wear skinny jeans, drink double-shot decaffeinated coffee, and sit in cafés debating the poem they wrote last night and whether it's better than something e.e. cummings wrote.

Oh, they're real. I was in a café a few months ago and a guy ordered and I quote, "a short black, white with 2 sugars".

I might have laughed. Though the barista was quite diplomatic...made him a flat white and when he handed it top him said 'short black white with two'.

I once saw a kid wearing skinny jeans and a white tee shirt with a pack of cigarettes folded into the sleeve reading The Outsiders, but that's not quite the same thing, is it? *snickers*

It warms my heart to know that pretentious is alive and well and wearing a che guevarra t-shirt in a nearby gated community.
