"Ho! The natives are restless. Hello, my people! Don't worry. I'll establish a higher minimum wage for you all!"
Henry Cheng wins #theinternet2017.
After speed rereading Lily Blue, I've started to reconsider Maggie Stiefvater's writing from adorable nuanced charm to, ohmygad can you please settle down with the red herrings and tangential prose?

“Once there were two moons in the sky, but one wandered too close to the sun and cracked from the heat. A thousand thousand dragons poured forth, and drank the fire of the sun. That is why dragons breathe flame. One day the other moon will kiss the sun too, and then it will crack and the dragons will return.”

This is starting off strangely reminiscent of that one Dumbledore/McGonagall fanfiction I read back in the pre-OoTP days. Not bad... just an unexpected surprise to find in a Tiffany Reisz book.

"I still don't trust you," said Chris. "I've seen you screw over my family too many times."
Hunter nodded. "I know." He paused. "I won't do it again."
"Prove it."
Hunter held his eyes. "I will."

Already, I'm a little sad to be missing out on the new releases in the coming months (Heir of Fire ::sobs::) I'm on the path of something wonderful, something amazing and I hate that it takes me away from the good books, friends and people I've met on here. I'll TRY to check in from time to time and try harder to be back soon.

Missing sister? Seeing things that are not quite there? Meeting a gorgeous stranger you're not entirely sure WHAT he is? The Karen Marie Moning is strong in this one. #Fever

He spit his Big Red into the trash then disappeared into the park. As soon as he was out of sight I tried to find the gum but it was too dark, there were too many liquids spilling out over the garbage, and as usual I just gave up.
Still gets me. Hard.

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother posting reviews in Amazon when it clearly has no place for simple stupid people like me.

This.. This is giving
Some Girls Are
some serious competition in the horrible high school girl behavior category. I think this may just have surpassed it o.O

The fact that this is not a first person POV already earns some points from me. But the writing's pretty strong and gritty and the steamy illicit affair going on haz me excite.

This book's plot is so boring I've already managed to beat my Flappy Bird best score TWICE while trying to recuperate from all the boring.

So the heroine vehemently claims she's not pretty, loves anagrams, worships bacon and wants to be Han Solo. NOT "hoochiemama" Leia.
So...manic

This is hardly the most original thought out there, but I would watch the shit out of The Groot and Hodor Show. Seriously.
Watch Guardians of the Galaxy!

"Do you hear what I said?” she repeated, with an aggressive side-to-side head tic. She was as wide as a prizefighter; the nametag, atop her impressive bosom, read 'Denese'.”
Well I like Denese, but it needs to be said:

"You think I beat girls up?" I said.
He shrugged. "She might have deserved it."
"Um, we don't hit women in America."
He scowled, and spit out an apple seed. "No. Americans just persecute smaller countries that believe different from them."
"Boris, shut up and leave me alone."
Boris is giving me Peter Stormare in Armageddon vibes.

Sometimes, unexpectedly, grief pounded over me in waves that left me gasping; and when the waves washed back, I found myself looking out over a brackish wreck which was illumined in a light so lucid, so heartsick and empty, that I could hardly remember that the world had ever been anything but dead.
If I don't post as much in the next few days,
I'M NOT DEAD, I'M JUST READING THIS.

"Just because we run our business like a corporation, Vincent, doesn't make us CEOs. We're gangsters."
I am REALLY liking Angela (because a female mobster boss, bitchez!). She's a sexier, smarter Connie Corleone in The Godfather III... without the cannoli, with the pasta sauce.

It would be a war foreign to us all: the power of modern organized crime against the Russian mob, the Mexican crews and every terrorist outfit in the grid.
