I feel really bad for her. She probably wouldn’t even be diagnosed with kleptomania but just tried as a thief and sent to jail. No mental health help for her besides the possibility of an institution.

I like the idea of a character with kleptomania but this is pretty late to be introducing it in this book.

I’m forcing myself back to finish this book after 2 years on hold.
I don’t really remember much of the series leading up to this book.

“Overstimulated” was used in the 1800s the way it is now. I wouldn’t expect it to be used like this by a young heroine who is slightly heartbroken.
Again it’s too modern.

He’s really violent. His first thought is always to kill. Even when there is no danger, just annoyance. Even himself just to avoid her. Yuck.

This one is just really hard for me to want to read. It’s not as bad as The Duke or The Duke With A Dragon Tattoo, at least not yet, but it’s just not enjoyable.

Still not liking Eli, and this boring man is not the Morley we know.
Also they way the two men are talking sound too modern.
I might be done with Kerrigan Byrne after this book, or at least self published ones.

I’m confused, how is Morley her “new” brother? He’s been married into the family since the first book.

Also Eli is horribly written. Comes off as a caricature. His langue is too modern. Sounds like he’s right out of a contemporary MC novel and not late 1800s Wild West.
