I've been on a nostalgia kick lately. I read Jane Langton's books back when they were age-appropriate and really liked them. It was hard to find "magic" books back then, and these were a great find. One thing I'm noticing about these older books - the POV changes quite often within scenes, and even within paragraphs. That would never fly now.
