Getting tempted to stop reading. Nora is characterized inconsistently and the phrase "His eyes looked like they didn't play by the rules" has, unfortunately, been written. I mean, it was funny, but what the heck, editors? Why did you not notice that made no sense?

Okay, uh, I actually kind of like this. I don't know if the Patch/Nora relationship is healthy, though it's certainly kinky. The problem is that we're complicating the vaguely kinky relationship with the fact that he's maybe trying to kill her, and she knows this, yet still wants to kind of be with him. At least she's aware it's insane.

Okay, sacrifice has been mentioned twice within the last few pages. Foreshadowing?

*twitch* *twitch* Sexism. Oh gawd sexism. Can't women bring home their own dinner? Phrasing = sexist; principle = okay if you work on it and qualify it A LOT. Overall, Coach = stupid, bad teacher.

Oh gawd. First off, "black orbs" to describe eyes. No. Second, the chapter 1 started on page 8. It is page 20. Already, he's irresistible? You talked to him for about ten minutes!!!

First impressions: Apparently, being a virgin is bad and guys who are jerks are hot. On the good side, having a brain is a positive thing. So far. I'm not sure Nora won't give up her brain to make out with the jerk soon.
