Something — other than the obvious motif of transformation — that keeps coming to mind within this particular version is how often (1) folks do not consider the consequences of their actions and thoughts upon themselves and others (2) folks pursue reckless desires without reflecting on the deepening of those desires — not the eye, but the means of seeing; not the ear, but the true means of hearing
