“ creative work, draws on an inner reservoir that we must consciously restore and replenish.”
I can take the time that I normally tell myself I don’t have, for things like pottery and picnics and stargazing, and river walking, and tinkering with mechanics, and creating cartoons and sunset chasing, and trying out that new restaurant, and actually do them just because they are fun, in the name of work haha 😁

“Be aware of your thoughts as they hunt for someplace to focus instead of on the task at hand.
To be able to create, we must be willing to learn how to quiet our minds, feel our emotions, and stay in the vacuum so the ideas can well up from our deepest place of knowing..
When people change their attitudes, they change their perceptions, and as their perceptions change, they continue to change their attitudes

“Most of what stands between us and our creativity is not a negative outer environment, but a negative inner environment.”

“We learn to dispute the negative voices by learning to be still and silent in the moment. The first step is to build a silent inner self that notices the negative voices as they speak.”

“Both your optimist and your pessimist need to be heard. Taking in both poles of your thinking leads to transcendence.”
I always thought that being “negative” or pessimistic was bad, & to acknowledge that side of yourself is not good. I was taught to hide that side of myself away, and to not acknowledge it at all, let alone engage with it and hear it out. All sides of ourselves have a need to be heard 🤍

“Honesty requires that we not suppress parts of ourselves. We consider unacceptable.”
I have been learning this lately.
I wrote in my journal this morning:
“I am not my unhealthy, or toxic thoughts. I write through them, so that I may see them clearly, observe them objectively, and come to a more well-rounded, and grounded, conscious conclusion.”

“There are few things in life more enjoyable than satisfying one’s curiosity. Think mystery, not mastery. Time-outs are about awakening our sense of wonder. They are not about self-improvement.”
Sometimes I forget to just enjoy life, and relax in the mystery without trying to continually unravel it for some ultimate mastery. If I am going to explore, I want to do it from a sense of awe & wonder 🤍

“Everyone participated more actively on a moment-to-moment basis. The creative level of his entire team rose as its members felt safe, respected, and heard.”
Giving credit where it is due, and accepting, and requesting input from others reveals, and strengthens, your leadership abilities while fostering a healthy work-place environment 🤍

“ morning pages put interesting insights front and center. Watch for what Carl Jung called synchronicity. ‘ I seem to be in the right place at the right time more often.’
Maybe all those super successful people aren’t just “lucky” afterall

“ over a surprisingly short period of time an integrated, more transcendent “l” emerges, one who is able to take in the “advice” how are intercourse act in the best interests of them all” 🤍
I want to understand all the sides of myself. I want to take in the opinions of all of them… Even the ones that don’t seem to be the most positive. I want to look at those opinions and thoughts objectively.

What are my resistances to creativity? …Bitterness. Resentment. Focusing on other peoples lives. Lack of meditation. Not admitting my faults or feelings. Shallow breathing. Not exposing myself to creative spaces. Lack of practice. Lack of reading.
