It’s hard to like the heroine when she’s lying about her identity most of this book, even after they are married and she’s pregnant. It’s kind of a huge betrayal and I don’t think the author can write her way out of this at this point.

🥵 this narrator. Honestly, this story could be complete garbage and I’d listen to have this guy flipping between Scot’s and English accents in my ear. Purrrrrrrr

Yes she switches places with her cousin and goes through with the marriage and gets pregnant on purpose because she promises him an heir. Not that you can do much to prevent pregnancy in the 14th century. But still. She doesn’t tell the truth until she’s forced to… it’s just not a premise I like. How can I root for her when she’s a liar?
