See, I would have been fine with Anzu praising and supporting Kiichi if he hadn't literally tried to rape her. Multiple times. No woman would say "don't underestimate yourself, you're wonderful" to a man who's assaulted her as many times as he has in the few months since they reconnected. Sure, he needs help but his mental illness is not an excuse.

I'm just so annoyed the mangaka is trying to woobify Kiichi. You can't have it both ways! Both ruthless blackmailer/attempted rapist and awkward shut-in who wants to ask his crush if she still has feelings for him. All he needed to do was NOT assault the protagonist and the romance would have worked! Though it would have been ever better if they'd stayed reluctant allies. Not all stories need a romantic subplot.
