I think some people are just like unrequited bonds. You have to cut them out of your life or you’ll keep aching for things they’ll never give you. Sometimes it’s an apology, other times it’s respect. In the case of my alpha father, there’s a whole list. But holding on to that ache won’t change anything. I’ve already given him too many years of my life. It’s time to move on.

He adds every book I show interest in to the stack in his arms until he has ten books clutched to his chest . He balances them effortlessly like carrying that many books comes as naturally to him as breathing. There’s something very sexy about that.
