A reminder that Nero was a bad emperor but did manage to make the city of Rome appear better after the fire. He probably didn't set the fire because he was 35 miles away. He did play an instrument because he thought of himself as an artist. He had his mother murdered but she had a range of bad acts including sleeping with her brother. The Goths were pretty reasonable people.

Cortes had an interesting life. Galileo was a verbal bully which was why many people were in favor of him being under house arrest for the rest of his life. He wasn't even a good father farming out his two illegitimate daughters to a convent and having his son adopted by his stepfather.
