Of course Pierce is claiming to still be Jeremy's boyfriend, and more. Of course he wants him back. Of course he is going to play dirty to get it.

I love Jeremy's fundraiser idea. Three birds with one stone is right.

“Mr. Jeremy, can you teach me a new song? ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’ is boring.”
Caitlin’s eyes went wide. “Maya!”

I adore Moira O'Neill, Sean's mother. Because of course less than 24 hours after they meet Jeremy has already met Sean's mother. These two have soulmate, there you are, where have you been all my life vibes. It works well better for them than any other pair I've ever read and they ate acknowledging the oddness of their connection.

I think it is safe to assume that anyone who gets to this point and still thinks Pierce might be redeemable will lose those thoughts in the space of about a sentence. Trigger warning for sexual assault. 😭🤬

Some smart writing from McGlynn. Liam is a pianist so Sean isn't a total novice to the world. It limits the tedious description needed. Jeremy is slightly touch deprived. Though it is not openly stated, purely implicit from his descriptions.

Going to be honest, did not expect them to fall into bed that fast. Not complaining. It's executed well. McGlynn is leaving space for development. And tbh Jeremy has enough issues that the will they, won't they is unnecessary.

I'm not sure I've ever read a book with twin prologues before. One for Jeremy in which he is involved in a bad car accident. One for Sean in which he and his brother Liam unexpectedly inherit the Moonlight Inn.

Honestly I think it is very smart. Everyone has a past that impacts their present. Why not include a slice of it?
