Nope. I'm done. Much too graphic for me. The story gets lost in the sex and violence. Too bad, I love a good historical romance and epic story, but this has crossed the line for me.

I'm curious to hear how you like this one. I had it on my to-read list, but after seeing the recommendations based on that, I read some reviews and figured it might not be for me after all. An 8 book series is a big commitment...

This is not a typical read for me...but I am enjoying it. I was kind of in a rut and not sure what to read next, so I picked this up out of curiosity. I'm not committing to the whole series, but will keep reading if I think it's worth it. There is more sex/sexuality to this book than I come across in most of my reading, so reader beware :) but really, it's a Scottish highlands novel full of brawny men in kilts, and a 'vulnerable' woman needing protection. I knew it was heading in that direction!
And...I'm done. I just can't do rape and abuse. It crossed the line for me. Too bad!!
That's too bad! I'll probably leave it off my list then. I'm not very good at leaving a book unfinished, which is something I really need to learn. Time for reading is too precious these days.
