finally finished chapter 6! i was being hard on myself for not finishing it last night but the chapter was 50 pages and basically…highkey… going over the basic tenets of the ENTIRE discipline of english speaking african philosophy. it was a lot to digest and UNDERSTAND so i’m not mad that i split it into two days. tomorrow, i’m going to try to read chapters 7 to 11 (50 pages). i’m unreasonably ambitious lol

broke the one-hundred-page mark. i liked chapter five and I'm like 10 pages into chapter 6, which discusses english-speaking African philosophers.

these chapters made me realize how YOUNG the discipline of African philosophy really is. a lot of the texts that the authors of these chapters are referring to are like 60 years old and younger! ofc that makes sense in context with African liberation in the 60s. it's sad.

read the first 60 pages/chapters 1 to 4. i liked chapter 4 the best.

starting this book over and giving it my FULL attention. i really wanna get started on my personal “theory” studies and this book is the 2nd step to doing that! i read an introduction to philosophy book back in january and i LOVED it. i want to give this book my complete attention and really delve into african philosophy. this is the longest book i’ve ever read. hopefully i can finish in 10ish days?

cannot wait to really delve into this!!

the first 30 chapters was just an introduction by the author and it was great!

it took me way too long to finish the introduction and because i really want to move on to other books (in this very long journey i’m partaking in), i want to aim to read at least one/two chapters of this a day.

hopefully, i’ll be finished before the end of february!!
