I may be in the minority here but I think I find the preachy blog posts from authors condemning bad author behavior more annoying than the bad author behavior itself. Maybe I'm too cynical, but it's kind of beginning to feel like inserting yourself into the drama in an attempt to leverage it for your own benefit.

Isa K. Cause really ... what are the odds that we're just one more sappy "stop being mean on the internet, people!" post blog away from world peace?

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) LOL. On the flip side on lots of threads here readers have asked authors why they don't step up and condemn the badly behaving authors and defend reviewers. As if authors are a group entity rather than individuals; as varied as reviewers.

Frankly, I suspect most of it is all drama marketing ("pay attention, even if negative attention, you jealous hater bully trolls to my book" temper tantrums) because book discoverability, not negative reviews, is usually their biggest hurdle.

A smaller number of posts on both sides of the fence are because someone felt strongly when some nastiness reared up. Hard to tell sometimes when some one is being genuine.

At least the worst of the stealth, I'm-so-clever-readersheep-won't-notice-I'm-promoting-my-book-if-I-coddle-them crap is from authors that seriously cannot write. So transparent.
