It's great to see chronic illness and pain represented in a character but then the author says the character has had it for 3 weeks. 3 weeks? At 3 weeks anyone would still be in the early stages, thinking there is hope and a cure.
Try living with chronic pain and illness for years, decades even, with no hope of healing left. Then we'd really be represented.
