The fact that people with dyslexia shows more activation in the PFC that is responsible for working memory. This is because they also have less blood flowing to the language areas of the brain which are responsible for the ability to connect the letters we read with the sounds they make. Because these areas aren't working as hard, a student with dyslexia struggles to recognize the words they are reading.
