- Finally! The story is starting at last!
- We’ve been collecting kids like Pokemon for so long now that I can’t even remember what the first kid’s name is.
- Even though we’ve had different point of views for every character I get a feeling that James is the protagonist or at least the leader of the group.
- Hayden is funny and definitely my favourite. Sam is a weirdo, Emily is super confident and Lana is insecure.

- My 3rd read for the Adventure April readathon on the MG group! I’m quite impressed with myself.
- I’ve read a few superhero books (The Quantum Prophecy and The Cloak Society, etc) and calling the superhero group “the League” feels very discount DC and uninspired. Hopefully the villains are cooler

The Pokemon reference lol. Now I'm picturing Mother from City Spies singing the Pokemon song but instead of Pokemon names it's the members of Umbra.

That’s actually quite accurate Aurora😂😂 thinking about it now, the villains collect the kids a lot like Mother because they appear when the kids need help or whatever, except they don’t give them a choice they just kidnap them and tell them they’ll kill them if they try to leave🤭 there’s the same amount of kids in the team too!
@Lynn so it’s going to end on a cliffhanger type of thing? I don’t know if I’d read the second book. I’m about 1/4 through right now and I’m not really invested nor enjoying it but it’s still early days so the plot could really develop from here
@Lynn thanks for letting me know! I’ll see how I feel by the end and maybe I’ll read the next one or maybe not.@Aurora haha yeah it is the opposite! I’m waiting for them to justify the murdering and psychological torture stuff they’re putting the kids through but I feel like even if they’re reason is that the good guys are really bad then that’s still not good enough justification like two wrongs don’t make a right.
