This book is helping me scrub my brain of the underfunded-public-school poetry education I received as a kid. I've been writing (bad) poetry since I was a kid, and while I've always been captivated by the craft of language, I have honestly been intimidated by reading "real" poetry — preferring to stick to "literary lyrics" (aka sad bands with lyricists who write better than most).
