I've been hesitant to pick this one up because Shantaram was soooo incredibly life-changing. I'm worried it won't live up to the original. Let me know how this one goes for you. Maybe I'll give it a go.

I’ve been reading it for over a year and still have about 1/4 left to go. I pick it up every now and then. It’s okay but it definitely doesn’t live up to the experience of Shantaram. It’s almost like DGR tries too hard to re-create the style of Shantaram in the sequel, and the result is that the writing feels heavy-handed a lot of the time.
