I'm surprised by what Guzzo said to Quinn. He said, "First Jill gets all crazy and radical. And now you? What the f***?" (Reynolds 260). It surprised me that Guzzo still doesn't understand that Quinn saw Paul beating Rashad and Guzzo didn't. Guzzo should be able to understand where Quinn is coming from.

I'm wondering why the Galluzzos actually had the party. Quinn and Jill were the only ones who were wondering that and it surprised me that everybody else just went with it being a random party. I'm pretty sure they were trying to prove Paul's innocence by having the party.

It surprised me that the author included the detail about Rashad's ringtone being a dog barking. The book says that it is "a tradition. Like, good luck, or something" (Reynolds 96). I am wondering if it is foreshadowing something because it seems like an odd detail to include.

People are killed by the police very often. Police are often overly violent given that "there have been 0 days so far in 2023 when police did not kill people in the U.S." ("Mapping Police Violence"). This statistic is based on the month of January only but it is still sad that police kill that many people."
