Well that's a twist. Didn't see it coming. I said I was going to bed hours ago

Ah the - but first Mr. Bond, I want you to know my plan- is a bit long-winded and convoluted... but I can buy it. But rattlesnakes? Haha it’s a bit much

Trying to describe how this is a well-written book and not the equivalent of Jesus harlequin/God porn. The characters are well-rounded. They have personality beyond their spiritual questions. Their spiritual questions are realistic. They are not saints and not caricatures of “sinners”. I feel that Sam is a real person I could have a beer with.

Im impressed at the writing. We've explored god and the meaning of life but its among other musings about life, organic and realistic. The story is interesting too

People have an idea of what "cowboy life" was like, and the westerns with John Wayne were a pretty poor account of real life. I see the author also claims to be taking details from history...

And...then I noticed the Bethany House publishing...and metion of books for "youth". It's a well-known christian publisher

But I'm pleasantly surprised..there is mention of God but not overbearing. I'm interested in the story

I picked up maybe 10 of the books by this author somewhere...can't remember where now. The covers are intriguing...they look almost like romance or erotica lol I wasnt sure what to expect but I have never attempted to read. Trying to declutter and found them again. I happened to pick up this one first which is the first in the series.

I noticed it's based in the 1800s.which made me more interested but also way
