I'm not sure how old she is, and I can't guess why they moved her from Nevada to Connecticut, but I love reading about how confusing she finds her foster family. It's a look inside a world I have no experience with.

I really like the way that the reader knows what Carley was thinking and can contrast that with what she is saying and doing. Until Carley's thought become so complicated that she doesn't understand them. The adults do an ok job of guessing what's going on, except when they don't.
