How the hell are you supposed to think without words or images? The only thing that's left at that point is like vague subconscious feelings.
I guess I should've seen that werewolf tie-in to Dämoren coming... I feel like Matt acted kind of stupid and out-of-character, though.

Good climax, good ending. Although the message of the ending is a bit grim. Atabei may have been deceitful and out for personal gain, but her overall ideal of extracting/containing demons rather than murdering the hosts has merit. But the loa basically confirmed that it's better to just murder the hosts. That kind of sucks.
Overall, I still preferred book 1. Definitely will continue the series, though.

Meant to say 'many centuries' in my previous update. Whoops.
I'm not really sure where this story is going. The overly graphic detail of a massacred family, including child and infant, is so very unnecessary to me. Don't need any of that, thanks! I'm curious as to where these werewolf flashbacks are headed, though.

Seeing as demons have been a problem that the Valducans and their predecessors have fought against over a century, it's actually incredibly unrealistic that no one but a select few knows about the demons. Their kills are super gruesome, and with how often they occur, there's no way it wouldn't be public knowledge.

Alright, betrayal finally happened. At like 58%. I absolutely believe that is firmly outside of synopsis range. Shouldn't have been mentioned. It's a spoiler at that point! Especially because it's not like the potential for a betrayal was set up early on. No, it all happened around the same time, more than halfway into the book.
ANYWAYS. I'm enjoying this book, regardless of complaints. 1st one was better tho

Oh. The thing still hasn't happened yet. But now I think that it might be about to happen. See, if I had no idea about it, it'd come as a complete surprise twist. But now I'm expecting things to happen! That's why I think the synopsis was a poor decision. But I'm harping on too much about it, I know.

My guess is that Tasha won't make it to the end of the story. Seems like the perfect and obvious setup for tragedy.
Now that I'm almost one third of the way in, the synopsis kind of seems like it's a bit spoilery? Only the first thing mentioned has happened thus far. Usually you want to keep synopses vague and introductory, and not include things that happen this deep into it. But what do I know.

I thought the new PoV character would take some getting used to, but honestly, he feels hardly different from Matt. At least thus far. He's not a new character; he was in the first novel. But we weren't in his head before. Not very far in, but I'm already at 19%. I guess this is a shorter novel than the first.

Didn't have any plans on what I wanted to read next, and since I enjoyed book 1 so much, I decided to just go on ahead to 2. Don't expect me to know how to pronounce this - I never did during the first book. I know it's supposed to sound French.
