Honestly I worry about this genre when people feel compelled to apologize for four star reviews.

Just in case this question was directed at me, the review was for Russian Bear.

And if not, I apologize.

;P

Emma Sea lol, you don't need to apologise. I shouldn't have been so unclear. The question actually was for Isa, because I noticed a review just before, for Carry the Ocean, which opened with an apology for not 5-starring it like everybody else.

YES! Ha ha ... I mean the first paragraph makes you think he's going to be super critical and I was so looking forward to .... you know, actual commentary. It's not like I want someone to bash that book, I don't. It's just every single review says virtually NOTHING about it other than a plot summary and the words "love" a half million times. I was looking forward to some critical thinking, even if the conclusion that this is best book in all of human history is the same.

But in reality it's basically a five star review with a few asterisks were the word "love" has been replaced with the word "like". It's so disturbing to me that people feel compelled to apologize for that.
