Early Zelazny stories. These include his Mars and Venus stories, "A Rose for Ecclesiastes" and "The Doors of His Face, the Lamps of His Mouth", which are reckoned among Zelazny's best and which regularly feature in lists of all-time best SF stories. Because of the NASA missions to Mars and Venus, Zelazny reckoned that such stories could no longer be written after 1963.
