As we crossed Burgundy the next morning...we passed valley towns whose names sounded like a carillon: Montrachet, Pommard, Vougeot, Volnay, Meursault, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Beaune. The nuns, the wine, the lovely courtyards--there were so many extraordinary things to see, and by the end of the day our cups had filled to the brim. By eight-thirty we were back at the Roo de Loo, where we unloaded armfuls of mimosas.
