This took forever to finish, but I really enjoyed it! Very good book, and I loved the characters and thought they were way more realistic romantically than a lot of other couples. DEFINITELY A SLOOOOOOW BURN. I am diving right into book two, but will probably also flip between this and other books to maybe speed things along.

A little slow to start, and a little had to follow just because of the author’s diction choices and some of the new vocabulary caused by the alternative world. I feel like I am on the cusp of something bigger happening, and I can’t wait. I fell like I am really going to like this book once things start to heat up with the plot!

Slow start thus far. I feel like this is already heading in a semi-predictable manner. But it is by no fault of its own - it is Fantasy Romance after all...kind of to be expected. Also, this is the first time in my life that chapter formats are a bit confusing. I can see how there is a purpose; however, it makes the story a little hard to follow.
