While the chapters on Aschau and Traunstein were fascinating, I did have to fight the urge to skip the chapters on war. It's horrifying, the suffering that people cause each other in this bloody game played by powerful men.

I am quite enjoying this book. Who knew that Pope Benedict XVI loved stuffed animals growing up, or that his father and mother met via old fashioned newspaper announcements? Georg seems delighted in his reminiscing.
