One thing that Lauren Dane does that is unique is her handling of exes. Her Chase series had brothers falling in love with brothers' exes. Second Chances dealt with the heroine falling in love (true, passionate love, not just platonic love) with OM after H screws up, or rather, Second Chances had two, sequential heroes.

This book has an annoying ex who is not psychotic, but reacts somewhat realistically - albeit dog-in-the-manger. The character was irritating, but the Ms. Dane's approach is impressive.
