“Nick.”

Oh my, Klune is klune-ing...

“Okay!” he said, grinning. “Operation Turn Nick into an Extraordinary and Live Happily Ever After with Shadow Star in a Villa Off the Coast of Italy Where We Feed Each Other Grapes by Hand is underway!”

He paused, considering. “Might need to work on the name of the operation, but you get the idea. Let’s do this thing!”

The bell rang.

“After school gets out,” Nick said hastily.

Seth was at his locker, banging his head against it. Nick reached up and put his hand between Seth’s forehead and the locker.

“Hey,” Nick said. “Do you want me to kill him? Because I will.” He was very serious about this. He’d learned how on the internet before Dad had tightened the parental controls. He just needed to find some sharks.

“No. Then you’d go to jail. I’d visit you, but it wouldn’t be the same.”
