“[Cottonseed] oil contained a toxin called gossypol, which protects the plant from insects but also leads to reduced fertility in men, as well as a number of other impurities that made it taste foul. The solution to these problems was a process now known as RBD, whereby oils are refined, bleached and deodorised”

We've been poisoning our lives to death for quite a while, unfortunately. I do try my best to avoid processed food, and still, that is not easy, for if I want a totally free life, I should move to the country. Yet, I try to avoid as much. I will be looking forward to reading this book.

“They” have been poisoning us, Márcio, and the worst part is that governments know it and do nothing about it. I mean, they (governments) do force tobacco companies to warn their consumers about the risks of smoking so why not ask companies like Unilever to give warnings about the risks of their crappy “food” as well? Can we sense a conflict of interests here? Yes, we can!
