Almost done with the Miriam section. I waver between sympathy and annoyance by her unwillingness to move on with her life. I want the women in this book to be stronger and more independent. I guess wishful thinking when you consider the time period.

It is very obvious from the beginning of this novel that Wright did not treat "his women" very well. I like Olgivanna's character, but feel sorry about her position in the Wright household.

I've met the narrator Tadashi Sato. He's an unusual man who's a bit of a novelty in the area because he's Japanese. Should be interesting to see how he gets along with Frank Lloyd Wright.
