Here’s my thing - (spoilers)
First they spend 250 pages leading up to a murder that they never described or elaborated on.
Then they spend 300 pages describing how they felt after the murder and how they continued on with regular life. A life consisting of blacking out on drugs and alcohol and then complained about headaches the next day.
Plus when drunk the five of them are interchangeable lovers?! hUH?!

Dragging just a bit but hopefully they work up the courage to actually put a knife in the turkey

This sad twist okay, but also what the heck were they thinking. Why. Just why would they do that.

What’s so beautiful about this book is the explanation of feelings that I’ve never recognized before. So many moments in this story feel familiar because of the emotions felt.
The feeling that Richard depicted as he stood in the kitchen of the twins home when he was trying to convince himself that he was alright is such an realistic moment of anxiety that I’ve never seen written in literature.
