Sam takes over as mayor of Perdido Beach, but begins to feel the stress. Caine decides to shut down the power, and kidnaps Jack to do so. When Drake goes on a rampage and kills Diana, Caine kills Drake by hitting him with a rod of uranium. Caine, Sam, and the others then go and destroy the Darkness. I think that the Darkness will somehow return and find a new form to take.
